Story Text: AS FREEZING FOG OUT OFF NORMAL COMMUNICATIONS TO ORLY AND LE BOURBGET AIRPORTS LAST NIGHT, (WEDNESDAY) A SAUDI ARABIAN MILITARY CARGO AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED WHEN IT CAME DOWN SHORT OF THE RUNWAY WHILE TRYING TO LAND AT LE BOURGET.
THE AIRCRAFT, A FOUR-ENGINED C-130 HIT THE GROUND ABOUT 200 YARDS (180 METRES) SHORT OF THE RUNWAY AND BURST INTO FLAMES. ALTHOUGH THE AIRPORT FIRE-BRIGADE QUICKLY BROUGHT THE BLAZE UNDER CONTROL, WRECKAGE WAS SCATTERED OVER A WIDE AREA OF THE FOG-BOUND RUNWAY AND THE FUSELAGE WAS SERIOUSLY DAMAGED.
ONE MEMBER OF THE CREW OF SIX WAS BURNED.
