Story Text: News of the tragic Russian plane crash that killed many members of the Locomotiv Yaroslavl a local hockey team hit home in Minnesota. Former Wild forward Pavol Demitra was among 43 people killed when the plane went down right after takeoff. Demitra played with the Wild from 2006 to 2008.
Defenseman Nick Schultz remembered his former teammate.
"We were pretty fortunate to have him here. Him and Marian (Gaborik) were kind of lifelong friends, there was a little gap there but there were good friends and so it was nice to see gabby looked up to him. I mean I think he kind of saw him as a father figure, a couple of young kids and he was here, kind of a quiet guy that kept to himself but he was a great team guy and he's going to be missed by a lot of people."
"Demo was a great guy, he was a great teammate. He was a great hockey player. He was fun to be around in the dressing room. It's just a, just a tragic accident," Forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard added.
