- Story Text: Vin Diesel and Paul Walker reunited for the fourth instalment of the "Fast and the Furious" action franchise that had it's European premiere in the western German town of Bochum on Tuesday (March 17).
"It was great, it was great to come back after all that time and be reunited with the cast who started it all" Vin Diesel told Reuters at the Red Carpet.. "And to continue the story, it was wonderful."
The first "Furious," released in 2001, was a surprise hit, grossing more than 144 million USD and making stars out of Diesel and Walker.
Only Walker returned for the 2003 sequel, "2 Fast 2 Furious," but didn't appear for the third instalment 2005's "Tokyo Drift".
"Personally, I didn't want to come back, if I didn't think we could make the best movie yet," said Walker of his motivation for shooting the fourth instalment. "It's hard for me to be objective, I have only seen it one time and I liked what I saw, which is very rare. But even better than that, the people, the fans of the movie and that, really seem to like it so I would say it is the best one."
That movie had relative newcomer Lucas Black in the driver's seat but did feature Diesel in a cameo at the end of the movie. His appearance was so well received that it was even mentioned in ads. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
