- Story Text: Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Glenn Close receives the 2,378th star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
Glenn Close was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday (January 12). The actress, who has earned two Emmy and three Tony awards and five Oscar nominations, was on hand to greet crowds and accept a replica of her sidewalk star.
"To be considered a star is one thing, but to be embedded in the sidewalk with life passing over us, that for me is the best part of this honor," said Close, whose plaque is the 2,378th star on the famed walk.
The 61-year old Close has earned a reputation in Hollywood for playing the eccentric female, from her Oscar-nominated role as Alex Forrest in "Fatal Attraction," to Cruella DeVil in Disney's "101 Dalmatians."
Despite her numerous accolades, Close joked that she wouldn't be remembered forever.
