- Story Text: United States troops serving in NATO's peace keeping mission in Bosnia got a welcome morale boost on Friday (July 26) when the legendary blues guitarist BB King staged a concert in Tuzla.
The show was organised by the USO, which provides a support network for U.S. service people serving overseas. King performed at the Tuzla IFOR (peace implementation force) airbase before flying on to Kaposujlak air field in Hungary to perform for troops stationed there.
As the "US Ambassador to the Blues", King has earned nearly every American national arts accolade and has travelled around the globe performing in hundreds of countries.
Although he is nearly 70 years old, the legendary performer still plays his guitar to fans more than 300 days a year. It was King's first USO show.
King was acommpanied by General Carl E Mundy, USO's new president and chief executive officer. Mundy said King's tour would bring "a touch of home" to the men and women in uniform. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
