- Story Text: "ER" star George Clooney made a flying visit to London on Monday (August 5) to donate a lab coat and stethoscope from his hit show to Planet Hollywood's collection of star memorabilia.
Clooney, 35, plays Dr Douglas Ross in the high-rating TV medical drama.
He also has a movie out, "From Dawn to Dusk", where he costars with Quentin Tarantino.
In the film, Clooney plays Seth Gecko, the older and more responsible member of America's most dangerous crime team.
Tarantino plays his younger brother, Richard. Both are on the run from the law after a crime spree over several states leaving numerous bodies in their wake.
The brothers are on their way to Mexico and a rendezvousat rowdy bar called the "Titty Twister". They're home free to a life of luxury if only they can survive one night of hell.
The film shot to number one when it opened in the United States earlier this year. It's a success Clooney would love to repeat in his new role as the latest caped crusader, Batman.
The star, however, has admitted he hates the thought of dressing up as Batman and donning the dreaded rubber suit.
"I don't know if I will bring anything new to the role," he said. "Mostly I hope I don't screw it up ... but I'm pretty excited." As for the suit, "It's not very comfortable," he laughed. "It weighs 70 pounds." Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer played the lead in the last two "Batman" epics.
Clooney is now in Macedonia, continuing to shoot his new film "The Peacemaker" alongside Nicole Kidman. He starts filming a new series of ER in the United States in two weeks.
The actor faces a busy end to August: "Monday through Thursday I'll be doing ER and then Friday to Sunday I'll be working on Batman," he said.
The film will be released next year. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
