- Story Text: After 58 years of dating the same woman, the comic book character Superman has finally plucked up the courage and popped the question.
Superman, as his mild-mannered alter-ego Clark Kent, will marry lomg time sweetheart Lois Lane in DC Comics' October 9th issue of "Superman".
In a New York city comic book store, one man said he believed the wedding was one of the best things DC Comics could have done.
"It's been a long time, the characters have become a little more human," he said.
Another man said the wedding was a mistake, and that Superman should go back to Lana Lang, his first girlfriend.
The Executive Editor of DC Comics Mike Carlin insists we are not losing a super hero but gaining a human partner in crime-busting for him, "He (Superman) has a responsibility to the world, and Lois understands that and will join in the never-ending battle, as a partner. I think Batman and Robin have worked out fine over the years: Lois and Clark will work out fine as well," Carlin added.
The television series "Lois and Clark, the New Adventures of Superman" will air the wedding in the United States (U.S.) on October 6th. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
