- Story Text: Pop singer Michael is in Europe preparing for the start of his HIStory World Tour Part Two - and to look for a site for a future theme park.
On Tuesday (May 27) Jackson flew into Poland to consider building a major "EuroJackson" leisure park in Warsaw and restoring a vast 300-room palace to live in now and again.
The King of Pop flew aboard a helicopter over potential sites for a possible theme park which officials said would cover more than 80 hectares.
He and the Mayor of Warsaw later signed a preliminary letter of intent to develop a Family Entertainment Theme Park in the Polish capital.
The letter said both parties would appoint representatives who would jointly study the project and present their recommendations in 12 months.
"Following this report both parties shall meet and agree on whether to continue this project and on what terms, if any," the letter said.
Warsaw Mayor Marcin Swiecicki said neither the location nor the size of the amusement park had been decided yet, but that both sides wanted it to be an all-year site for both children and adults.
Jackson, on a two-day visit to Poland, is also looking to restore a vast 300-room palace in the western town of Lubiaz to live in sometimes.
Swiecicki told reporters that Jackson fell for Poland in September when he performed in Warsaw during his History tour and met President Aleksander Kwasniewski.
Jackson last year signed a deal with Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, billionaire nephew of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, to work together in joint ventures including concerts, films, television, theme parks and hotels.
He said the proposed "EuroJackson" theme park would have a special flavour imparted by the star to draw his fans.
Crowds of German fans greeted U.S. pop star Michael Jackson on Wednesday (May 28) when he arrived at Bremen airport.
Jackson is scheduled to start his German concert tour in Bremen on Saturday night.
After the Bremen concert, Jackson is scheduled to perform in six other German cities this summer.
Jackson arrived at his Bremen hotel to be greeted by hundreds of screaming, sometimes weeping, fans.
He walked up to people in the crowd to sign autographs before retiring to his hotel room under the watchful eye of burly minders. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
