  • Story Text: The man who brought the underground hit "The Crow" to the big screen is back with a new film "Dark City".

    From director Alex Proyas, the film had its world premiere in Los Angeles last week (February 25) Rufus Sewell, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly and William Hurt star in this furutistic mythical tale about one man's battle to reclaim his destiny.

    Sewell plays John Murdoch, a man who wakes up in a strange hotel to find that he is wanted for a series of brutal murders.The problem is that he can't remember whether he committed the murders or not.In fact, most of his memories have vanished.

    For one moment, he is convinced he has gone mad.

    William Hurt plays the investigator pursuing Murdoch, Detective Burnstead.As the hunt continues, Murdoch stumbles upon an underworld controlled by a group of unusual beings collectively known as "The Strangers".These shadow-like figures possess the ability to stop time and alter physical reality through a process known as "Tuning".

    Soon, Murdoch discovers he is also endowed with this power.Ultimately he alone is able to resist The Strangers' control over his mind.

    The Strangers decide Murdoch is too much of a threat and must be destroyed.

    With the help of Doctor Schreber, played by Sutherland, Murdoch is able to stay a step ahead of his adversaries while he pieces together the puzzle of his past, including his love for his estranged wife, Emma (Connelly).

    "Dark City" opens in Britain in May.
