  • Story Text: Former Spice Girl Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell is selling
    the extravagant stage costumes she wore as a singer in the
    "girl-power" pop group.Meanwhile the rest of the girls have
    returned to the UK after their triumphal US tour.

    Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's clothes top the bill at
    Sotheby's "Rock n' Roll memorabilia" sale on September 16,
    which also includes her music awards and a swanky sports
    car.

    Halliwell split from the Spice Girls earlier this year to
    pursue a solo career.

    She was credited with being the driving force behind the
    band.

    Among the glitzy costumes to come under the hammer will
    be an eye-catching "Union Jack" dress worn for the 1997 Brit
    Awards in London, which is expected to fetch up to 12,000
    pounds ($19,800), Sotheby's said.

    A scarlet-brocaded satin oriental dress worn for the
    Spice Girls' meeting with South African President Nelson
    Mandela in 1997 should raise up to 3,000 pounds.

    All proceeds will go to a children's cancer charity.

    The rest of the band have arrived back home in the UK
    following their triumphant US tour.

    Posh, Sporty, Scary and Baby arrived back at London's
    Heathrow airport on Tuesday (September 2) to be greeted by
    dozens of their young fans.

    Accompanying them was Posh's boyfriend, Manchester United
    soccer star David Beckham.
