- Story Text: Pop superstar Madonna made a surprise guest appearance in London on Sunday night (November 01), when she joined other stars to honour British film director Alan Parker in a celebration of his work.
Madonna joined other top celebrities on Sunday night (November 01) to present the director, Alan Parker, with an award for his life time achievement in the movie industry.
The event, which was organised by the Directors Guild of Great Britain to mark Parker's film making successes, took place on a boat on the River Thames.
Madonna told guests that she was worried that her pregnancy would disrupt filming of the huge international hit movie Evita, of which Parker was a director.
Instead the director adjusted the shooting schedule to cope with her imminent motherhood.
Lyricist Tim Rice, who worked closely with musical maestro, Andrew Lloyd Webber on the movie "Evita" and other productions, also praised Parker's work.
The celebratory dinner was attended by other stars who have worked with the director and they all partied well into the night. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
