- Story Text: After WHAM! and a decade of solo work, this week British pop star George Michael has released his first retrospective album, "Ladies and Gentlemen".
The humourously titled 'Best Of' album includes, "Outside" among three new songs on the 29-track compilation.
Diehard George Michael fans won't be disappointed this week when they head for the record shops to buy his latest offering."Ladies and Gentlemen, the Best of George Michael"
is a compilation of songs from his previous albums with an added bonus - three brand new tracks.
One of the new singles entitled "Outside", currently riding high in the singles' chart, deals with George Michael's experience in Los Angeles last April, where he was arrested for lewd conduct in a public lavatory.
The video for the song pokes fun at the whole affair and features George Michael dressed in an LAPD (Los Angeles Police District) uniform and shows male couples embracing in parks and other places. The singer who is well known for his provocative videos and lyrics, is evidently having the last laugh over the episode.
Despite his arrest in LA George Michael is popular as ever and sales of the album are expected to be huge.
The album is split into two discs, one disc entitled "For The Heart", the other "For The Feet".The former includes tracks "Jesus To A Child", "Careless Whisper", "Kissing a Fool" and "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" with Elton John.
The second disc includes his funkier tracks such as "Fastlove", "Too Funky", "Spinning The Wheel" and "Freedom '90". - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
