Debuting at New York City's Radio City Music Hall in 1999.
Steel City is the inspiration of the award winning trio of director and choreographer Dein Perry, known for the world-wide hit "Tap Dogs", composer and acclaimed musician Tim Finn of Split Enz and Crowded House fame, and Tony Award winner Brian Thomson, one of Australia's most accomplished production designers.
Perry, Finn and Thomson united their creative visiions with the Steel City dancers - fourteen of Australia's hottest young men and women ranging in age from seventeen to twenty-three, who groove from the factory floor to the hippest floorshow in town. With props including forklifts, a tip truck and eight and half tons of Newcastle Steel, they create the ultimate dance party with a touch of Broadway finesse.Accompanied by a live band, and electrifying theatrical atmosphere ignites the stage.
Dein Perry became an internationally recognized star with the creation of the highly acclaimed "Tap Dogs" which played throughout the world, grossing over a 15 million dollars. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
