- Story Text: Legendary pianist/composer Herbie Hancock explores and redefines the music of George Gershwin with his recent release on Verve Records entitled "Gershwin's World".
He says he wanted this tribute album, in what would have been Gershwin's 100th year, to be different and indeed it is with contributions from Kathleen Battle, Stevie Wonder, and Joni Mitchell.
Herbie Hancock is well known for experimenting with technology and challenging himself as an artist and composer; witness the seminal 1973 "Headhunters", the Academy Award winning score for "Round Midnight", and his multiple Grammys. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
