  • Story Text: Veteran crooner Tony Bennett came to London to promote a new book and CD on Saturday, with a performance and book signing in front of a throng of swooning women and swinging members of the younger generation.
    Veteran crooner Tony Bennett came to London on Saturday to mark 50 years in showbusiness by promoting his new book, "The Good Life" and his new compact disc, "The Essential Tony Bennett".At 72, Bennett's performances can still make women swoon and remains cool with the kids.
    With 90 albums and eight Grammy awards to his credit, Bennett has kept toes tapping at various venues from the London Palladium to appearing with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on MTV.
