- Story Text: With his new action-thriller "Entrapment" on the way, Oscar winning actor Sean Connery stopped by Mann's Chinese Theater in downtown Hollywood on Tuesday, April 13 to take part in a time-honored tradition: putting his hands and feet in wet cement.
Although the hand and footprint ceremony has become a regular part of Hollywood marketing for years, Connery broke slightly from tradition when he kicked off his shoes and stepped barefoot into the cold cement.
He's only the third or fourth celebrity in history to make such a move. The last star to go barefoot was Susan Sarandon when she received the honor last December.
Although Connery is best known for playing the super suave British secret agent James Bond, he has gone on to build an impressive career, both as an actor and a producer. He won his Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work in "The Untouchables," and he recently won a Tony for producing the Broadway hit comedy "Art."
He combines both talents in the new film "Entrapment." In the movie, he plays the world's best cat burglar who teams up with an insurance executive posing as a jewel thief, played by newcomer Catherine Zeta-Jones.Connery also produced the film.It opens in theaters throughout the United States on Friday, April 30.
Some of Connery's other films include "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," "Rising Sun," "The Hunt for Red October"
and "The Man Who Would Be King. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
