  • Story Text: The MTV Europe Music Awards were launched in London on Monday (October 04) with second time host Ronan Keating joined by fellow Irish bands The Corrs and Westlife and pop diva Mariah Carey.
    The Sixth Annual MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live on November 11 from Dublin's celebrated music venue, The Point, with all the awards voted for by viewers.
    After weeks of speculation, the all-star line up was revealed to include Britney Spears, The Cardigans, Mariah Carey, The Corrs, Jamiroquai, Marliyn Manson, The Offspring, Sean Puffy Combs, Whitney Houston and Underworld.
    At yesterday's (October 4) press conference Ronan Keating announced his second stint as host - he fronted 1997's awards in Rotterdam, and was looking forward to playing to a home crowd.
    Keating's protégés Westlife were also on hand to mark the announcements.The youthful five-piece are co-managed by Keating and were thrilled to be nominated for two awards before their first album has even been released.
    American talent was represented by Mariah Carey who has received her first ever nomination in Europe's biggest music awards.
