  • Story Text: By day films come first at the Cannes Festival - but come nght-fall it's PARTY-TIME! The cast of skydiving action movie "Cutaway" - which includes basket-ball legend Dennis Rodman - threw one of the festivals hottest parties, with movie stars, exotic dancers and guests who were definitely dressed to impress.
    When the cinemas close at the Cannes Film Festival, the partying starts.
    Organisers never quite know what screen stars will turn up, but the Cutaway bash managed to draw basket player Dennis Rodman, one of the characters in the film and Michael Madsen who played in Reservoir Dogs.
    "Cutaway" Director Guy Manos said he was proud to have made it to Cannes with his first film.
    The world sky diving champion was not quite sure what the top award at Cannes was, but he knew he wanted to win it.
    But action movie Cutaway is a far cry from the more artistic peices that are nominated for the festival's coveted Golden Palm.
    Cutaway tells the story of U.S. customs agent Victor Caruso who inflitrates a group of smugglers who use parachutes skydive drugs into Florida.
    The sky divers are known as "cutaways", having abandoned their possessions, friends and family to skydive all year round and compete in an annual "speed-star"
    competition.
    Caruso falls in love with Star, the owner of the drop zone, and must eventually choose between his duty as a law officer and the addicitive skydiving lifestyle.
    Dennis Rodman stars in the film, and arrived just as the party was warming up driving the crowd into a frenzy.
    Rodman who has been in Cannes several times seemed pleased to receive such warm greetings.
    "I've been here a couple of times before and it's very beautiful, the ocean, the nightlife, everything's good, everything's good"
    This party will be remembered as one the best and the most exciting in twelve days of wild drinking, dancing and cinema.
