- Story Text: Members of American band The Black Eyed Peas were in high spirits even though some of their luggage went missing as they arrived at the Johannesburg International Airport, South Africa, for their first concerts in the country.
"I think we are just gonna go out there and be shocked that we are here in South Africa, and then after the shock we gonna get really excited that we are in South Africa.
Then because of our excitement we gonna perform as we've never had before because we here in South Africa and it's gonna be one of the greatest shows because we are here in South Africa," enthused one of the Peas.
The band has earned fans world-wide with their inventive approach to hip-hop music, inspiring people with loose rhymes, and a positive spirit.
The group has already had a string of hits all over the world. Their fourth album Monkey Business will be released early next year.
During the show on Saturday night (November 20) in Johannesburg, The Black Eyed Peas flaunted a passionate, energetic hip-hop spirit and succeeded in getting the crowd thoroughly worked up and established a rapport with them.
The group stayed true to their unique dress code and wooed the audience with intricate and entertaining breakdance moves.
The Black Eyed Peas recently won a 2004 MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography in a Video, appeared on the MTV Europe Video Awards and received two nominations for Record of the Year and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for Where is the Love? at the Grammy Awards. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
