  • Story Text: To mark the beginning of the Christmas festivities, film actress Monica Bellucci --recently crowned the world's most beautiful woman-- launched the illuminations of the avenue des Champs Elyses in Paris on Tuesday night (November 23).
    For more than a month, Parisians and foreigners will be able to admire these spectacular lights which have been displayed in the trees along the world famous avenue from the Champs Elysees roundabout to the Arc de Triomphe.
    Some 135,000 bulbs and 45 kilometres of Christmas tree lights were used to illuminate the avenue des Champs Elysees.
    These illuminations are strongly welcomed by shopkeepers who see the opportunity to increase their turnover up to 60 percent.
    These fairy lights are a good reason for consumers to have a nice night-walk along the avenue des Champs Elysees and to start thinking about their Christmas shopping.
