- Story Text: Italian actress Sophia Loren spent some of her Christmas holidays in Germany where she was watching the musical "Grease". One of the longest running shows, "Grease"
is currently on tour in Germany, where it held a special Gala performance in Frankfurt in aid of underprivileged children.
"Grease" started out on Broadway in 1972, but it wasn't until 1978 when the film starring John Travolta and Oliver Newton John was released that it became a household name.
The musical continues to be successful and is currently on tour in Germany.
Jody Carmell who plays Sandy says "Well, the one thing about Grease is that it is obviously a universal theme, so it doesn't matter what country you are from or what age you are, because the topics that it deals with like growing up and falling in love and maturing, everybody can relate to that. So I think when the older generation look back they can enjoy the musical because they can relate to it and also the younger generation who are presently going through it also can relate, so it's kind of for everybody."
