- Story Text: Puerto Rican pop sensation Ricky Martin has performed a five-song teaser for an exclusive audience at New York's Irving Plaza. The event was held just one day before the official release of his second English language album 'Sound Loaded'.
A primarily female crowd, lining up outside Irving Plaza on a freezing New York night, where soon warmed when the red-hot Ricky took to the stage. Indeed his latest video is so hot, they had to film it underwater! Hip-swivelling puerto Rican pop sensation Ricky Martin has performed a five-song teaser for an exclusive audience of 1000 at New York's Iriving Plaza.
The largely female audience snaked around New York's Irving Plaza on a freezing New York night, to see their idol perform live on stage.
Most of the fans had received their tickets at radio station giveaways, although a few of them won tickets at the venue itself.
The songs Martin performed were taken from his latest English album 'Sound Loaded', and were full of latin rythms and up-tempo pop. Martin did keep his basic formula and the audience loved his frantic and passionate delivery of his current single "She- bangs."
Martin, who's entertainment career has run the spectrum from soap star on General Hospital to Latin sex symbol, included an excellent 'bump-and-grind' ballad, "Come to Me"
in his latest album. "Sound Loaded" follows his English language breakthrough album, "Ricky Martin."
The largely female audience lapped up every second of Martin's high quality performance, but it was his new song 'Amor" that showed that Ricky has matured as a stylist.
"Loaded" is dubbed as having that rare cross-generational, cross-cultural appeal - and could help Martin take home a Grammy or two in the coming year! ---ENDS--- - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
