- Story Text: Rap star Sean "Puffy" Combs debuted his latest line of fashions from his Sean Jean line of clothing. A number of well known celebrities were at the event to see his latest designs and show support for Combs who is currently facing illeagal weapons and bribery charges in a New York court.
Sean "Puffy" Combs has been in the news almost daily as his trial for weapons and bribery in a case stemming from a club shooting in Manhattan more than one year ago. Combs, a well known rap star also has a line of clothing called Sean Jean and on Saturday he revealed his highly anticipated line of clothing.
Amongst those in attendance for the show included well known designer, Tommy Hilfiger who said that he had come out to support Combs, "I'm here to support another designer, I've known Puffy for a long time, I think he's talented, I think he's creative, I think he's a great business man and I think his clothes are pretty cool."
The fashion show was broadcast live on cable television throughout the U.S. on the "E" Television Network.
The interest in Combs and his fashions brought out some well known celebrities to see the show live including famed singing star, Luther Vandross who claims to love the world of fashion, " I mean I love it you know this and wrestling is what gets me out of my house yeah these are my favorite things, I buy the magazines I watch the TV runway shows, I love it I'm always interested in it."
As if being a beloved rapper and famed fashion designer isn't enough, Combs also maintained a very high profile relationship with the chart topping and up and coming film star, Jennifer Lopez. Recent reports have claimed the couple have split up although Combs dedicated his fashion show "To Jennifer, thanks for showing me life.".
The wife of well known rap producer, Russel Simmons, founder of the famed Def Jam Records said that she knows "Puffy" is going through a tough time, "From what I hear and from what I know I think he's you know he's doing as well as can be expected these are pretty trying times and I think that every, every a lot of men must go through something, something like this, maybe not exactly like this but we all go through trying times and I think that hopefully his spirit will hold up and his faith and he'll be OK."
