  • Story Text: French actress Juliette Binoche says she's thrilled to have been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for this year's Oscars.
    In London to promote her latest film 'Chocolat', Juliette Binoche spoke about how thrilled she was to have been nominated for Best Actress for this year's Oscars.
    Binoche, already an Oscar winner - she won Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'An English Patient' said she was more delighted with the news that the film 'Chocolat', based on Joanne Harris's novel of the same name was in the running for Best Film. She said the news meant that 'Chocolat' had touched people in the way it had set out to do.
    Binoche admitted that she had deliberately not watched the announcements as they were read out live on television, preferring instead to continue with interviews , hoping to avoid showing any nerves.
    And in case anyone's wondering, no she doesn't plan on writing a speech before the awards after all, she's up against stiff competition which includes Hollywood's favourite, Julia Roberts.
