  • Story Text: Music and models are mixing in Milan for MTV's first European Fashionably Loud music show hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum.
    Reuters joins Heidi on a shopping expedition to select her outfits for the show and meets America's latest rock export, Wheatus, as they prepare for the event.
    Internationally renowned supermodel, Heidi Klum is set to host MTV Europe's new live music show, 'MTV Fashionably Loud Europe 2001' being held in Milan on Friday (April 20).
    But before the German-born beauty could set her mind on rehearsing for the show, there was a much more important task on her mind ..and as Heidi proved, finding the right outfit is sometimes harder than it looks, even when you're one of the world's best known models.
    The Fashionably Loud extravaganza is as much a music event as it is a fashion show with the likes of America's new diva Anastacia, rockers Wheatus and the Basement Jaxx performing live on stage while some of the worlds best known faces strut their stuff on the catwalk.
    Achieving the right look isn't always easy and as Heidi visited some of Milan's leading fashion houses like Missoni and Anna Molinari, the pressure was on for her team of stylists to pick out the perfect costumes for the event.
    US punk-pop act Wheatus have one of the freshest sounds on today's music scene and the New York foursome have recently had a pan-European smash hit with their debut single 'Teenage Dirtbag' so were a natural choice for MTV's musical spectacular. Currently on their first tour of Europe, the band have secretly recruited an unlikely guest vocalist for tonight's show but they're refusing to reveal her identity.
    The event will feature a stunning fashion show styled by some of the coolest designers and stars of the fashion world, and will also include the final of a Europe-wide model competition undertaken by leading model agency, IMG, to find the new faces of 2001.
    Eight finalists from the 9 searches that have taken place across Europe in recent months, will be judged by a celebrity jury and the winning model (one boy and one girl) will be granted a lucrative 3-year modelling contract each with IMG Models.
    Fashionably Loud Europe 2001 is based on the highly successful US show which has been hyped as one of the most hyped events in the music and fashion worlds.
