- Story Text: Cuba Gooding Jr., Roselyn Sanchez, and Roger Moore are getting a taste of Germany as their latest film "Boat Trip" is partly filmed there. Reuters caught up with them at a press conference.
"It's a very funny film!," Roger Moore told journalists at a news conference in Bonn on Friday (May 25).
The comedy tells the story of lovesick Jerry (Cuba Gooding Jr.) whose buddy Nick (Horatio Sanz) books the two of them on a cruise promising "all the things men enjoy: lots of sunshine, parties and beautiful women in abundance."
But as soon as they arrive aboard the ship things turn out quite differently from what the two men expected: it's a cruise exclusively for homosexuals.
The two friends' only hope is the Swedish "Bikini team"
which descends from the sky and falls straight into the lap of -- Nick.
While Nick is trying to get to know Swedish model Inga (Victoria Silvstedt) a little better Jerry falls in love with the only female crew member on board, the attractive dance teacher Gabriella (Roselyn Sanchez).
Gabriella is very fond of Jerry -- and believes he is gay.
The chaos is complete once Jerry's ex Felicia (Vivica A. Fox) enters the scene and the boat to reclaim her lover.
"For me the challenge was 'can you take an international comedy, international cast, international writer/director, team up with a German company and perhaps make the first international German comedy in a long time," said director Mort Nathan.
"Boat Trip" will come to a cinema near you in 2002.
