  • Story Text: Martial arts superstar Jet Li has reportedly received more than $5 million for his latest role as a top government agent in Luc Besson's "Kiss of the Dragon."
    "Kiss of the Dragon" brings together Chinese action hero Jet Li with Bridget Fonda in a martial arts thriller.
    Li plays Liu Jiuan a government agent who travels to Paris to carry out a top secret mission, his mission goes horribly wrong and Liu becomes trapped in a deadly conspiracy.
    He is thrown together with an American woman played by Bridget Fonda and together they go up against their cunning enemy.
    The film is produced and co written by French Filmmaker Luc Besson (The Professional, The Fifth Element) and is based on a story written by Jet Li.
    Kiss of the Dragon follows Li's roles in "Lethal Weapon 4"
    and "Romeo Must Die". Fonda has recently completed "Monkeybone" and "South of Heaven, West of Hell".
    Fonda was in the unique situation that she agreed to take part in the movie, before she had even read the script.
    "In the many things I have done this is a definite first when I agreed to do a part in a film and I had never read the script, I was just, I just decided a leap of faith adventure time."
    And Fonda was not the only cast member who took a chance, veteran actor Tcheky Karyo, who Besson directed in " La Femme Nikita" and "The Messenger" also trusted that he was in good hands as he was not able to read the work-in-progess script.
    It was the first time Fonda had worked with Li and she is full of admiration for her acrobatic co star and hopes to work with him again in the future, " I find that he's got a soulful quality that I really, really dig, I would love to work with him again."
