  • Story Text: Over one hundred thousand people came to the former German capital Bonn Saturday (June 30), to hear Ash and the Fun Lovin Criminals at one of the countrys largest summer open-air festivals.
    Despite pouring rain and autumn temperatures, the fans crowded around four stages in a park near the Rhine river to hear their musical heros.
    The festival, which is free and which finances itself through drinks sales, had to shut down one of five stages this year due to lack of sponsors.
    However, it was the headline acts Ash and Fun Lovin Criminals which attracted much of the fans attention.
    Tim Wheeler, the lead singer for Ash, said he enjoyed the atmosphere at the Rheinkultur festival .
    Obviously people are enjoying it even though its been a shit rainy day, theyve all turned up, he said.
