- Story Text: The Irish band U2 played to an enthusiastic sold-out crowd on Sunday on Berlin's open air Waldbuehne stage.
U2 wrapped up its its Elevation 2001 tour through Europe and North America in Berlin. Earlier this month, the band played two nights in the western German city of Cologne, but Sunday was their only concert in Berlin.
22,000 fans rocked to the music from the band's newest album, "All That You Can't Leave Behind" as well as old favorites such as Bloody Sunday, which propelled the band to fame in 1983.
Tickets for the concert sold out within an hour of going on sale, and many fans spent up to four times the price (108 German Marks) to buy tickets on the black market in order to see their idols live onstage.
