  • Story Text: Veteran hollywood hunk Burt Reynolds took the opportunity to launch his latest movie 'Tempted' with Saffron Burrows (Enigma, TimeCode) whilst accepting a tribute at the 27th American Film Festival, Deauville, France. Reynolds hooked up with Julianne Moore, also there for a tribute, at a dinner in their honour on 5th September.
    Closing the Festival on Sunday, Christopher Walken accepted a tribute and talked to Reuters about his recent appearance in the MTV award-winning Fat Boy Slim music video.
    Reynolds spoke to Reuters about 'Tempted' where he plays Charlie LeBlanc ageing husband to Lilly LeBlanc (Saffron Burrows) and about his love for her.
    Burrows says of working with Burt: 'Burt's amazing - he's probably the most powerful person I've ever encountered on an obvious physical level and also just in terms of the life experience he's had and the fact that he sort of has this very very contradictory sensibility which is a very interesting combination of this power and kind of love of poetry and literature and a sort of gentleness you know which is sort of cliched but is very much there with him.
    Questioning her love for him, Charlie LeBlanc hires a young man to try to seduce her, testing her fidelity.
    Although attracted to the man, Lilly resists his temptation to seduce her, until she discovers her husband's scheme. Outraged, she decides to use him to get back at her husband with dire consequences.
    Director Bill Bennett took the unusual step of making the movie largely unscripted, allowing the actors to improvise scenes and dialogue.
    Talking of his tribute and roller coaster life Reynolds adds: 'You can't go on like that because you, you know, you'll keel over. You'll hope what that will do is that you'll get smart enough to mellow out a little bit and also like the alligator that I am - a survivor - what I want to be is this guy who young actors come up to and say 'how do I survive' and I'll tell them 'I can't tell you in one sentence, but I'll tell you where the minefields are, and a couple you'll have to step on anyway.' But I'll tell you where they are and I hope you have as much fun as I do'.
