- Story Text: One of the world's greatest musical performers, Madonna kicked off her three month sold out North American Tour, The Drowned World Tour, at the First Union Center in Philadelphia on the 21st of July, 2001.
Singing superstar Madonna kicked off her highly anticipated U.S tour, The Drowned World Tour, at the First Union Center in Philadelphia on July 21,2001. The first song she performed was "Drowned World," after which she has named the tour.
The tour will travel to 12 U.S cities and is a celebration of artistry, technology and sound.
The tour features material from her current multi-platinum CD, Music, as well as signature songs spanning the length of her incredible career.
The North American tour follows hot on the heels of her European tour, where fans were mesmerized by the extravagant stage sets and costumes. Before the concert, fans lined up to buy expensive Madonna merchandise, with T-shirt prices hitting over a hundred dollars.
