- Story Text: Legendary rockers Aerosmith launch their latest album "O Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits," a first ever collection that includes some of the group's best work with two new tracks.
"O Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits' is the latest album from the legendary rockers which is a collection that included some of their best works along with two brand new tracks.
The new tracks are called "Girls of Summer" and "Lay it down" and are recorded specially for the new collection.
Having sold over 75 million records in the course of their monumental career, Aerosmith have managed to transcend the fads and follies of their time, to become one of the most enduring and exciting bands in rock music. Steven Tyler, lead singer for Aerosmith says he owes much to his fans."Its all got to do with a band that loves to rock, and as long as somebody wants to hear the band play, we're gonna be here to rock", says Tyler. "It's about attitude, it's about freedom, it's about rock and roll."
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry says the inspiration for this record was a live sound. Perry said,
"I think that the main reason why we did this record is we wanted to put something together that would be like the ultimate live set.
If we're gonna do a 3 hour set of music that would represent all the stages of our career, it would be this record. And that's what I think makes it different from any other box set we've done or any other greatest hits records that have come out and as it had a bonus, there are 2 new songs on there that hopefully will make the status of greatest hit."
The album commemorates the 30th anniversary from their first signing with Columbia Records, and includes Grammy -winning songs like "Livin on the Edge," "Crazy" and "Janie's got a Gun."
The album hits stores shelves across the U.S and Europe in early July.
