- Story Text: The widow of slain Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin said on Friday (December 8) extreme rhetoric and political divisiveness led to her husband's assassination.
Leah Rabin was speaking at a ceremony to re-name a midtown New York street in her husband's honour.
During the ceremony, Mrs Rabin said hoped the murder of her husband would be answered by cardinal change in the world.
She also said the murder would be answered by a better future for everyone.
On Sunday, Leah Rabin and Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres will speak at a rally at New York's Madison Square Garden called to re-affirm support for the search for peace in the Middle East.
