- Story Text: Mrs. Norah Amin, the wife of Uganda's president, was one of hundreds of people who on Sunday (19 December) took part in a charity walk around the town of Entebbe.
The purpose was to raise funds for building projects at the Najjanankumbi Secondary School near the capital, Kampala.
Leading companies in Uganda provided sponsorship for the walkers.
SYNOPSIS: In Uganda--a charity walk to raise funds for a building project at a nearby secondary school. Hundreds of people joined the walk--including some notable personalities. And there was a police band to lead the marchers out of Entebbe.
Among the walkers--Mrs. Norah Amin, the wife of uganda's President. The walkers were raising funds for buildings at the Najjanankumbi Secondary School near the capital, Kampala. Refreshments were available at several points along the 13-mile (20 Kms.) walk. Most took about three hours to complete the journey. Sponsorship was provided by leading companies throughout Uganda.
For Mrs. Amin--and all the other walkers...a souvenir of the walk.
