- Story Text: Pulling a 10 tonne truck 20 metres in just 35 seconds won an Israeli man the title of the "strongest male" in Israel Thursday (June 19).
Using only harnesses, a tether, and will power, a group of Israeli muscle-men pulled and tugged lorries in a Tel Aviv street.
Despite the hot summer day, the men took part in the competition that included three rounds: first, the contestants were required to pull a 6.5 tone lorry along a 40 metre road. The second round included two trucks and the final round three.
Ronen 'the Barbarian' Sourinov, age 39, won the title after he tugged three trucks with a total weight of 20 tonnes for a distance of 30 metres, breaking a time record.
"This year, I came to defend the title. It wasn't such a big deal.
I did it. It was a very tough competition. There were a lot of big guys - strong guys, but here it's not only strength. You need to know what you're doing, and that's where the difference is," he told Reuters.
The competition was sponsored by UTI importer of Isuzu trucks in Israel. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
