  • Story Text: Dozens of cat admirers arrived at Kibbutz Shfayim in central Israel on Saturday (December 22), for an annual cat festival.
    Cats of all shapes and sizes were paraded on stage, competing for prizes in different categories. Among the competitions held in the event, choosing the King and Queen of cats, who will represent Israel in international competitions, and a search for the ultimate couple - the cat and owner who most resemble each other.

    "Here we have a Ragdoll cat, it's a female, she was born in the last century, she was born in 1999 which means that she is already 8.5 years old," International Cat Judge, Charles Spaika, said is he was inspecting one of the felines.

    "I can tell one thing for sure if you have a Ragdoll cat of this beautiful development and this beautiful condition in this age you can be very happy and very proud," he added.
    This year's event brings pets to Israel from all over the world, including pedigree and unique cats from Italy, Norway, Russia and Poland.
    Judges are multinational as well, with experts arriving from the Netherlands, Switzerland and other countries.
