  • Story Text: Family members of Israeli diplomats stationed in Egypt and some 40 other citizens are evacuated from Cairo on a special flight, the Israeli Foreign Ministry says.
    The family members of Israeli diplomats stationed in Egypt and some 40 other citizens were evacuated from Cairo on a special flight on Saturday (January 29, 2011), the Israeli foreign ministry said in a statement.
    People were seen arriving Saturday evening at the airport, but refused to comment.
    "A flight dispatched by the Foreign Ministry landed a short while ago at Ben Gurion Airport, carrying on board family members, spouses and children, of Israeli envoys in Egypt. Also on the flight were approximately 40 Israeli citizens who were staying in Cairo on private business and wished to return," the statement said.
