- Story Text: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's wife Sara testified on Sunday (July 15) in court over allegations she underpaid and humiliated a household employee.
In 2010, the couple's former housekeeper, Lillian Peretz, sued demanding compensation for alleged underpayment from Sara Netanyahu. She also claimed the prime minister's wife "humiliated" her, occasionally shouting and insisting she change clothes during the working day to meet exacting demands for hygiene around the Netanyahu household, Israeli media reported.
Mrs Netanyahu was quoted as saying she had lent her housekeeper money to fix her car several times. Money, which was not returned, and concluded that the housekeeper's workload was very light as she took care of the couple's second house, which was largely empty.
"To hear such things, I'm all burning, furious. I can't reach a settlement when I hear these things. I can't. She needs to think about her children who know the truth. The friends, the work place... she used to come every Saturday and I wasn't cooking (only) samples, I was cooking and bringing it... if it wasn't for me who cooked and brought food to her father's carer, she would have nothing to eat," said Lillian Peretz, former housekeeper for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara.
Sara Netanyahu, a child psychologist and former El Al flight attendant who is the prime minister's third wife and mother of his two teenage sons has filed a counter lawsuit, demanding 600,000 NIS (151,000 US$) compensation for libel and violation of confidentiality. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
