  • Story Text: French President Francois Hollande met with Israeli Labour Party leader Shelly Yachimovich in Paris on Thursday (August 23).
    According to a statement released by Yachimovich's office, the two discussed issues concerning the Middle East as well as matters affecting the economies of both countries.
    Yachimovich also urged Hollande to take a tougher stance over Iran by pressing for stronger sanctions and increasing international pressure over Iran's nuclear capability.
    Also in attendance were Israel's ambassador to Paris Yossi Gal and French ambassador to Israel Christophe Bigot.
    Earlier on in the day Yachimovich met with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.
