  • Story Text: Israel's army confirmed on Saturday (July 15) that four sailors were missing after a naval vessel was attacked hours earlier off the coast of Lebanon amid escalating violence with the Hizbollah guerrilla group.
    Israeli media have said the ship was hit by an airborne drone packed with explosives late on Friday. The army said the vessel was badly damaged and had been towed back to Israel.
    "During a navy operation off the Lebanese coast a missile ship was hit and we have four crew members missing," an army spokeswoman said.
    "At the moment there are all kinds of operations under way to find them."
    The army has not confirmed what hit the ship.
