  • Story Text: Israel began preparing for distributing thousands of ballot boxes on Sunday (March 19) ahead of March 28 general elections.
    Workers packed thousand of ballot boxes that were stored in a warehouse in the Israeli town of Shoham, and then loaded them on trucks that will leave the warehouse on Monday morning (March 20).
    Shalom Ben Yehuda, Manager of Warehouses for the Logistic Operation Centre of the Knesset's Election Committee told Reuters Television that workers at the warehouse were packing the ballot boxes and preparing them for their shipment across the country.
    "We are packing and distributing (the ballot boxes) across the country ahead of the election day, in every single classroom... that's about 10,500 ballot boxes to distribute," he added.
    Three main parties will compete for majority in Israel's parliament, the Knesset - Likud party, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, Kadima party which is headed by Israeli Interim Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and the Labour party headed by Amir Peretz.
