- Story Text: Israeli women no longer have to be too careful when shopping for makeup, thanks to new imaging equipment which can simulate results without the customer actually having to apply the products.
Finding a desired look can be a cumbersome task for any customer, but by applying virtual makeup on a personal digital image, one can find the best-suited look in a clean and financially safe fashion.
An Israeli company EZface which markets beauty-related products developed an in-store unit of digital imaging that illustrates the way a woman's face will look with various make up combinations.
Anyone wanting to try out the new technique would only need to sit in front of mirror, leaving the rest up to technology. A camera installed in the middle of the mirror then captures the customer's image and displays it on a screen.
The customer can subsequently mix and match colours and products by the click of a finger until the desired look is achieved.
EZface was founded in late 1999 and is based in the United States, but its research and development centre is located in Israel.
Israeli women will be among the first to enjoy the benefits of this new technology. Consumers can look forward to browsing through available inventory and instantly viewing how they look wearing a range of various products.
The invention is an added bonus for cosmetic retailers who can now help consumers reach a well-informed purchase decision, with almost no risk. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
