- Story Text: Only the second set of quintuplets ever born to Israeli parents were delivered early on Monday (30 December) at Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital.
The next day doctors said they would have to wait a further two or three days before predicting the quins' chances for long-term survival but said prospects for all five babies were "good".
The three boys and two girls - averaging between 1.27 and 1.69 kilos (2.8 and 3.7 pounds) - were born to Tova and her husband Moshe Medina from Sderot in the Negev desert.
The babies were six weeks premature and confined to incubators.
By Tuesday Mrs. Medina's room at the hospital was full of flowers from well-wishers and the Medinas had already received gifts such as a new, larger flat, baby furniture, free milk supplies and free household held underwritten by Sderot Local Council.
