- Story Text: Jerusalem police are continuing their investigation of an explosion on Friday (14 February) that killed two men believed to be Arab guerrillas only a few block from the hotel where the United States' Secretary of State, Dr. Henry Kissinger, was staying at the time.
The scorched and mutilated remains of the two victims were found on Shmuel Hanavi Street, near the Mandelbaum Gate - only a 10-minute drive from the King David Hotel, where Dr. Kissinger and his party were quartered while in Jerusalem for their latest round of peace talks with Israeli leaders.
A police spokesman said it was believed the two men were carrying an explosive charge when it went off prematurely.
Police attached hooks to the bodies to search them for more explosives from a safe distance before removing them in coffins to waiting vans.
