- Story Text: The world's most publicised couple - film stars Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor - arrived in Jerusalem on Wednesday (27 August).
The couple, who were divorced fourteen months ago, have been back together for about two weeks since a surprise reconciliation in Geneva. They are in Israel for Mr. Burton to inspect the site for the film 'Abakarov' he is making in October.
The pair are staying in Jerusalem's King David Hotel only four floors below Dr. Henry Kissinger who is in Jerusalem as part of his attempt to arrange a Middle East peace agreement between Israel and Egypt.
Mr. Burton said he hoped to meet Dr. Kissinger though he understood the American Secretary of State was a very busy man. The couple's arrival in Dr. Kissinger's hotel has brought a stream of jokes about "interim settlements" from the political reporters covering Dr. Kissinger's present peace mission.
The normally talkative Mr. Burton has ignored questions about his reconciliation with Elizabeth Taylor saying "It's nobody's business but ours".
