- Story Text: Abba Eban, israel's Foreign Minister, today (Monday) began his tour of Western Europe with a courtesy call on the dutch Prime Minister Piet de Jong.
The tour has began under a heavy cloak of security precautions. Dutch Authorities have been anxious about recent Arab Commando activity in Europe and are taking special measures to protect Mr Eban. Special watch is being kept at airfields and borders, where armed police and Israeli Security Officers have been posted. The Israeli Embassy has been under guard since an abortive bomb attack was made on it by a young Jordanian last September.
Israel's Foreign Minister has also made courtesy calls on Sueon Juli???, Dr. Joseph Luns, his Dutch counterpart, and the Chairman of both Houses of Parliament. Tomorrow (Tuesday) Mr Eban begins his round of official talks when he meets Dr luns again. It's thought likely that their talks will centre on current Middle East tensions. Dutch majority public opinion is acknowledged to be pro-Israeli.
