- Story Text: Terrorist operating from the Lebanon crossed the border to kidnap an Israeli civilian watchman at METULA. The watchman, 54-year old Shmuel Roesenwasser, was dragged across the border by a gang of about lo terrorists on 1th January at 2.15 a.m.-The Fatah later announced from Amman that it was holding Rosenwasser as prisoner. -Israel views the kidnapping of the civilian watchman with particular gravity".
Following recent acts from Lebanese territory, an Israel Army unit entered tonight (2-3 Jan.) QALA village, some 1.5.Km. west of Metula, and conducted a search for terrorists, This village served as the point of exit for terrorists who kidnapped the watchman. in this action, the force blew up the village guard house and ten soldiers and eleven civilians were taken to Israel for further interrogation.
During the day the area was quiet.
