- Story Text: A number of Western countries today (Tuesday) called on their nationals to leave or avoid the Middle East as tension continued to build up there over the confrontation between Israel and the Arab countries. In Tel Aviv, the Israeli capital, the tourists are moving out in large numbers------but the city seems otherwise calm.
Tel Aviv, on the surface at least, reflects little of Middle East crisis that could erupt in open warfare at any moment. In the United Nations tonight (Tuesday), Denmark and Canada asked for a meeting of the security Council to deal with the extremely grave situation in the Middle East. The Council is expected to meet tomorrow.
