- Story Text: At a special session of the Knesset (Parliament) during the summer recess, a session called by 30 required signatures of the Likud opposition party plus members of the National Religious Party, at present also in the opposition, replied to an urgent motion for the agenda concerning the joint statement made earlier this month by US President Ford and Jordan's King Hussein. The statement referred to a "seperation of forces" along the Jordan river. Israel, amongst other through its Prime Minister, has been opposed to such an idea and repeatedly stated, that with Jordan only a negotiation towards pace is meaningful. Apart from that issue though Israel has not been too happy with the manner in which PM Rabin was "summoned" to Washington, when Secretary of State Kissinger announced the invitation to Mr. Rabin for a specific time before PM Rabin had officially accepted the invitation.
