- Story Text: See clipping attached:-Miriam Holtzberg-Andersen, the 22-year old girl shot accidentally, when the hi-jacked Sabena Airliner was liberated by IDF soldiers on May 9th, passed away on Thursday 18/5/ without ever having regained consciousness. Miriam's husband, Jon Andersen, whom she met when he was serving as a vo-l???teer at her kibbutz - Lohamei Hageta'ot - was at her bedside throughout. He is a medical student in Brussels, where Miriam was studying as well. Miriam was on her way to visit her parents at the kibbutz, when the plane was hi-jacked. During the 20-second shot-out she received some bullet fragments in the brain. The funeral took place at 16.00hrs at the kibbutz. About 350 people followed the coffin which was taken from the kibbutz dining hall to a tractor drawn platform which carried the coffin followed by Miriam's parents and her husband (with glasses, a Norwegian non-Jew) and the kibbutz members and guests to the cemetery. The burial took place in a strictly non-religious manner as is the custom in left-wing kibbutzim. Antek Zuckerman, formerly commander of the War-saw Ghetto uprising, (said a few world of farewell and recalled that Miriam's original name was "Mery", the Hebrew word for "uprising", since she was born on the memorial-day (19/4) of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. Comrades then filled the grave with sand and placed wreaths on the grave, amongst them a wreath from "Sabena" and another from the Minister of Transport, Mr. Shimon Peres.
